Hydrogenation Services
Catalytic hydrogenation is one of the most important transformations in the chemical industry today. The team at Peakdale have over 20 years experience, with over 18000 hydrogenation reactions performed from 1ml to 20 litre scale, at variable pressures (15-3000psi).
With a highly trained team of experts, we offer our clients safer, cheaper and more efficient hydrogenation services. Peakdale can perform heterogeneous and homogeneous hydrogenation on a wide range of chemical groups. The following is a selected list of transformations we have successfully carried out for our customers.

-
Chemoselective hydrogenation
-
Deprotection of N- and O-benzyl and Cbz protecting groups
-
Double bond saturation
-
Nitro reduction
-
Heterocycle saturation
-
Nitrile and oxime reduction
-
Deuterations
-
Enantioselective hydrogenation
We perform all catalytic hydrogenations using a range of vessels including Parr and Buchi. Moreover, we are able to develop bespoke equipment to suit our customer’s needs. Our Hydrogenation Suite is fully equipped with analytical instruments and technical support: NMR, LCMC, HPLC and IR. With stringent safety requirements especially with regard to high pressure, high temperature reactions, we also offer a Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) service.

Catalyst Screening and Profiling
With our Baskerville Screening unit, Peakdale offer a rapid screening of high pressure reactions and heterogeneous catalysis systems in a broad range of different conditions. In conjunction of a wide range of both Heterogeneous (Pd, Pt, Rh, Ru,Ni) and Homogeneous (Strem and Solvias screening kits) catalysts we can:
- Rapidly screen over 100 off the shelf catalysts
- Screen and profile client specified catalysts
- Screen and profile different reaction conditions (pressure, temperature)
- Carry out aggressive chemistries
- Fully optimize reaction parameters and conditions.
Peakdale are available to customers on a fee for service basis. Our clients can specify the structures they want to receive. Customers receive regular project reports, and any intermediate compounds are made available to the customer.
